About Hemp

Benefits of Hemp

Hemp seeds have earned the reputation for being a Superfood for good reason. They are said to be the most nutritionally complete food source in the world, with a nearly perfect balance of “healthy” fats in the form of Omega 3, Omega 6 and containing significant amounts of the amino acids, arginine, methionine, cysteine and glutamic acid.

Amino acids are essential to the body. We do not have the ability to naturally produce and must obtain them from a healthy diet.

Hemp is a wonderful protein source containing high amounts of vitamin E, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron and zinc. The two main proteins in hempseed are edestin and albumin.

About 25% of the calories come from protein, considered to be relatively high. Comparatively speaking, by weight, hemp seeds provide protein similar to beef, with approximately 5 grams per tablespoon.
Hemp is high in fiber both soluble and insoluble and known to be better from a digestibility perspective, more so than grains, nuts and legumes.

Hemp is not a new discovery. Hemp (Cannabis sativa) has been an important source of nutrition for millenniums in Old World cultures.

Hemp is not Marijuana

Although hemp and marijuana are both part of the cannabis family they are cultivated in very different ways and have different uses and effects.

Hemp and CBD are not the Same

Although both come from the same plant, they possess different levels of THC, which is what causes the high. Hemp only has trace amounts of THC, which the body processes rapidly. Unfortunately, sometimes the words hemp and CBD are used interchangeably.

Hemp Cannot Get You High

It is THC that causes the high and the level of THC in hemp is so low that the body processes it faster than it can be absorbed. Accordingly, you cannot get high from hemp.

Hemp Does Not Cause Drug Test Failure

If it truly is hemp with no THC, there is no possibility to fail since again the body processes the minute traces of THC faster than it can be absorbed and as a result there is nothing residual to detect.

Buying Hemp Products is Legal

Hemp is legal in all 50 states. It is the higher level of THC in cannabis products that make them illegal.
